Hi everyone I’m writing again so for this chapter I’m going to review about hip-hop music from INDONESIAAA !!! well there are several rappers from Indonesia other than Rich Brian.I LOVE SAYKOJI though the group is funny, very practical they know what they say, the rhyme is awesome, I love their wordplay too with their lyrics 🙂 But its my favourite artists please understand 🙂
There are misconception about swag in Indonesia, they thought wearing hoodies, sneakers, got tattoos or piercings are cool.
Back in 2010 I got my very first apple product, yup the iPod. Furthermore about the iPod I’m so obsessed with my iPod, back than if you know Indonesia have their own MTV at Global TV. So I was pretending that its cool to have my iPod and my Facebook, apparently they have this song called Online. Technically Online spoke about the habits of people excessively using the internet no matter where they are, they also using the internet for not-so-useful things that including us. I found the video funny, I meet Igor once back when I was in secondary school 🙂 they have this conference a church conference and they called Igor as one of the host, he was talking about God having us online 24/7 and wait for us to chat with Him 🙂
Apparently he has this group called DICIPLES ( SAYKOJI) where the produced bunch of gospel songs, its a ministry group that consists of several other people.. Igor stated that the group filled with a lot of creative people who are willing to serve God in ministry 🙂
Indonesia also got their unique group with Bondan Prakorso, and Fade 2 Black my favourite is Ya Sudahlah or basically Its Okay. The song meaning is about letting go of something thats bothering you and everything is going to be okay 🙂 I think this song was such a hit in my country back in few years, for me this song is so listenable..(like if you don’t understand just listen to the melody 🙂 )
And also there is Iwa K. there is this song called Bebas in English means free he is one of the first ever generations of hip-hop in Indonesia so don’t be surprise with the old school beats. For me personally I rarely listen to old school except 2Pac 🙂 love 2Pac and DeathRow Records 🙂 but I don’t have much knowledge about the genre itself in Indonesia so I picked artists that I know and I like 🙂
If you see there are not so may female rappers from Indonesia, but the best one is Ramengvrl, she got this cool vibes of cool girl, such a girl crush gurrlllll… other than that usually a lot of people think they could be the next Nicki Minaj or Cardi B of Indonesia, but Ramengvrl is different so you need to check her out mann like its dope 🙂 you need to she her 🙂
I hope all the artists above can proved anyone that Indonesian Hip-Hop is not that bad they have some best musician but they are not too exposed just yet, and if some of fellow Indonesian also give them a push I think it will be amazing 🙂
