Hiii guys recently I really have a tough days and I really doubting myself, sometimes because I’m in my 20s, and I’m the oldest out of 2 siblings (so I got another brother) I don’t want to be the burden of my family, and its really hard talking about it. When it comes to my religion, I don’t think that I’m really let God help me out..but I’m currently try to build the bridge again, and listening to what God want me to be. A year ago, there was this guy from the US, he came to my church and his grandson told me about NF, and Lecrae. NF particularly really stroked me out, with the song Let You Down.
Also from few of the articles that I found for example like CBN, he rapped about his personal journey through God himself on the line “I’ve been through hell in my life though. But I know where heaven is. Father forgive me for I am a sinner, but you gave me music as medicine,” Although most of his lyrics are containing his personal beliefs, he stated that he made music for everybody, but I think its really depends on your views. Some people might not agree, but I think its really up to him, its a good thing to listen from someone’s story, and beliefs at the same time its also refreshing to listen to gospel music in a more modern way. Also its a way for you to share your experience, and to me a lot of stories that I heard are all about money during the church time, but I don’t really connected, and to me real life issues like drugs, self confidence are the most relatable topics to me 🙂 so I love NF.
Another song that actually catch my ears is Oh Lord, from his album Therapy Sessions. On the chorus “Do you see us down here, oh Lord (oh Lord)? Oh Lord?” “Do you see us down here, oh Lord (oh Lord)? Oh Lord?” he explained ‘There are a lot of people who question God and stuff like that. This is me smacking myself in the face, but makes people think about life”
Also its also talking when people are questioning about God, and talking to Him when they are on trouble, and actually its the most relatable song, because that’s the truth, even myself sometimes I prayed really hard when I’m in trouble, eg ; right now. Anyways to put in short, I personally thing that his Therapy Sessions are more into his personal relationship with God, and his Perception album is more talking about his relationship with his family member for example, Let You Down with his father. On his album NF4 I really love the song WHY, where he described how hard it is to be judge from the religious issue as a music artist, you can see on the lines They don’t invite me to the parties but I still arrive Kick down the door and then I go inside Give off that “I do not belong here” vibe Then take the keys right off the counter, let’s go for a ride.
