+7 rings+

Ariana Grande puts another hit song called 7 rings. The song was inspired from her shopping spree at the Tiffany’s and Co where she got 7 rings of engagement rings. The other 6 rings went to her best friends. The music was inspired by numerous hip hop musics, from 2 Chainz, Soulja Boy, Princess Nokia, Notorious B.I.G. and Beyoncé. For the record Ariana is a fan of Notorious B.I.G., I personally appreciate on how Ariana keeps on trying new genre to explore more about her own artistic sides. I don’t think this is the first time of Ariana pulling some hip hop inspired song, on the song God is a Woman she’s kind portraying herself as a rapper right ? but I don’t hate Ariana, she’s completely an amazing artist, I mean a video record of thank u, next….its hard to compete with that !

Although I personally like the music, there are some groups that apparently were not quiet happy with the song. The music was accused for having cultural appropriation, on the line You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it (Yep) it was accusing for the appropriation of hair weave that belongs to African-American culture. On the lyrics itself she also saying that when she is on her music video set, she’s not afraid to go all out in order to get the best music video of her. Ariana also poking for the haters Write my own checks like I write what I sing, yeah (Yeah) in which she expressed that she’s writing her own music, although she’s also working with other writers, this line also making Ariana putting herself as a rapper, where most of the rappers are responsible of their own lyrics. Other than that 7 rings is more to a friendship song, rather than a post break-up song.
